Early Years at St Francis

Early Years at St Francis

Welcome to St Francis Reception Provision, where we nurture young minds and hearts. Our dedicated team of early years educators is passionate about providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment for your child.

At St Francis, we believe that every child is unique and deserves personalized attention. Our EYFS curriculum is carefully designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. We focus on developing key skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and social-emotional intelligence, to equip your child for future success.

Our spacious and well-equipped classrooms provide a safe and engaging space for children to explore, experiment, and collaborate. We prioritize outdoor learning and encourage children to connect with nature and develop a sense of wonder about the world around them.

We value strong partnerships with parents and carers. We believe that by working together, we can create a supportive and nurturing environment for your child's development. We invite you to visit our school and experience firsthand the warmth, care, and excellence that St Francis has to offer.

FOREST SCHOOL

At St Francis, we believe in the power of outdoor learning to enhance children's development. Our Forest School program offers dedicated sessions where your child can explore the natural world, connect with nature, and develop essential life skills.

Through hands-on activities and experiences, children will:

  • Build confidence and independence: As they navigate the natural environment, children learn to trust themselves and their abilities.
  • Develop problem-solving skills: Forest School challenges children to think critically and find creative solutions to obstacles.
  • Improve physical health and well-being: Spending time outdoors promotes physical activity and can have a positive impact on children's overall health.
  • Foster a love of nature: By experiencing the beauty and wonder of the natural world, children develop a deeper appreciation and respect for the environment.

Our Forest School sessions are led by qualified educators who create a safe and stimulating learning environment. Children will engage in activities such as building shelters, exploring woodland habitats, and participating in nature-based crafts.

A Stimulating Environment

We are proud of our environment and our EYFS classrooms. They are designed to inspire and engage young minds. We believe in creating a practical and inviting space where children can flourish as learners. Our classrooms are equipped with a variety of resources and materials that cater to different learning styles, allowing children to explore, experiment, and discover at their own pace.

Key features of our EYFS environment include:

  • Creative centers: Dedicated areas for arts and crafts, dramatic play, and imaginative exploration.
  • Sensory experiences: Opportunities to engage with a variety of textures, sounds, and smells.
  • Outdoor learning spaces: A safe and stimulating environment for children to connect with nature and develop a sense of wonder.
  • Child-sized furniture: Encourages independence and self-care.
  • Flexible learning areas: Supports different teaching and learning styles.

Through play-based learning, children are able to develop essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, and social-emotional intelligence. Our educators provide guidance and support, while allowing children to take ownership of their learning and explore their interests.
