Charity Work 2021/22
As a caring School, we have been thinking of others, either by raising money or sending gifts for those less fortunate than ourselves.
EMMAUS PROJECT
The Emmaus Project which aims to provide clean water for 23 schools in the Masaka District of South-Western Uganda by providing water pumps.
To tie in with Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee, our annual sponsored event was called 'Celebrate 70'. Each class spent 70 minutes doing various challenges, e.g., throw and catch a ball 70 times, skip 70 times, bounce a ball 70 times, run around the field 70 times, score 70 penalties. Some challenges were individual challenges, others were as a team. A fantastic £1798.35 was raised.
During Lent 2022 we collected money to buy a well for a village in Uganda and are trying to fill a toilet with coins. As part of this fundraising the whole school also dressed in blue as part of the 'Drop of Water' day. Every class family also took part in a workshop where we thought about how we can all do our bit to save water in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world who don't have clean water. A phenomenal £565 was raised.
