A message from the Friends' Committee
January 2016 saw a new committee form and since then we have hit the
ground running and planning the next 6 months’ calendar! It’s shaping up to be a full and fun schedule and we would love to take this opportunity to let you know who we are and what we are about:
Who is on the Committee?
Katie Pickstock (Chair)
Amy Hill (Vice Chair)
Karen Bailey (Secretary)
Cat Lochrie (Treasurer)
You will find us all on the KS1 Playground.
How can I join the Committee or help out?
New members are always welcome on the Committee and we are hoping to hold a regular monthly meeting at school once a month, but we also need helpers who may only be able to spare a few hours to help with an event, or who have an idea to share. Everyone is very welcome: Mums, Dads, Carers and Grandparents. There are many jobs, big and small and all help is greatly appreciated. Helping to fundraise will help your children get more out of the School, as all the funds raised are for their benefit.
How much time would I have to commit?
As much or as little as you can spare! As well as new Committee members we welcome any help from parent helpers, even an hour or two to help with an event. Please feel free to come and see us, one of us is usually in the infant playground on pick up.
How do we fundraise?
At the meetings the Committee discuss ideas for new activities, fundraising or social, how to make the best of existing activities, who will run the activities and whether there is any grant funding we can obtain for the school.
What do we spend the money on?
The 2012/13 committee raised funds to make the Pond area amazing for all the students to enjoy.
The 2014/15 committee raised approximately £15,000 and are currently working with Mrs Hostein and external suppliers to shape a plan to develop the junior playground. How exciting! The current committee are hoping to extend the playground upgrade, but are also thinking of other ways to help around the school.

Friends' News

Thank you to all the many people who came to the Christmas Party, helped out on the stalls, donated prizes, spent their pocket money and gave generously of their time.
Together you raised £1796.59 which will go towards enriching the education of the children here at St Francis’
The restoration of the Pond has been completed. The wildlife area has seen a transformation from "wilderness to heaven". Thanks to those who had the "vision" and to the parents and families who have enabled the project to go ahead by supporting our fund raising events.
You can still help. How? By volunteering to help when we hold grounds maintenance weekends.
